Priscillas Curtains
If you are looking to add a small amount of grace and country
vibe to any room in your house, you can't go wrong with choose Priscilla curtains. There are too many styles
and designs to name, from Wendy to Heirloom sheer, which means they can be used in literally any room in the house;
as long as that room has a window. These curtains are bound to create plenty of compliments when you have
guests over and your visitors will be wondering where they can get their hands on some similar curtains for their
own house.
There is no better way to add a little Victorian style to your windows than with these curtains;
however, hanging the curtains correctly are just as important as picking out the right ones. Some of the more
popular styles of Priscilla curtains are wide-ruffled, Wendy, and Heirloom and two of the better brands of
Priscilla curtains are Southern Textiles and Country Curtains.
Before you purchase your Priscilla curtains, make sure you have
measured the windows you are thinking about decorating them with. You should know that the correct size for a
curtain of this type is twice the size of the window. This is not for both curtains combined, but each
individual curtain should be twice as big as the window. If you are not entirely sure what size to get, I'll
let you know that it is better to get curtains that are too wide rather than too small because they are suppose to
look large in the first place.
Start off by installing all the required rods and other
hardware. You may need a man in the house to hammer in any required hooks and to reach the top of some your
windows that are higher up than others. For Priscilla curtains, you will need to use double curtain rods for
extra support. Make sure these rods are installed properly. The proper way for them to be installed is
to have them on top of each other. This means one rod will need to be shorter than the other. Next, you
can start putting the curtains onto the curtain rods. For curtains that have ruffles on only one side, make
sure you have the curtains facing the right way. Also depending on which style curtains you purchases, for
example wide-ruffled, Wendy, or Heirloom, you may need to adjust exact how wide the space for the curtains needs to
be.
Tie-backs are a must when installing Priscilla curtains.
Make sure when you buy your curtains, matching tie-backs are included. Without the tie-backs, your curtains
can be left look less than perfect and rather cheap. Although, if you can't afford to buy tie-backs, ribbon
can sometimes be an effective alternative. You tie these curtains like you would any other. Take the
ruffled edge of the curtain and bring it together with the other side and use the tie-back to tie it together to
add that signature element of style to your window curtains. Once you have tied both curtains on the window,
you can take a step back and admire your new, classical style window curtains.
You can't get any closer to the elegance of many years ago than
Priscilla curtains. These curtains are sure to impress guests and even others living at your house.
Once you have the curtains properly installed, you will see how well the time and effort paid off. If you
don't feel like making your own curtains, you can always go out and buy some Priscilla curtains from one of the
popular brands such as, Southern Textiles or Country Curtains.
